The bed of my dreams filled with layers of soft textures and soothing neutrals that invite relaxation and comfort into my space.

I started with layering the bed with quality sheets with a high thread count in a calming colour. Layers of blankets for ultimate comfort. I mixed different in pattern and textures with the blankets. Then used a variety of pillows in different sizes and shapes. Add a cozy throw at the foot of the bed for an extra layer of warmth + style.

Open shelves are the perfect place to add characte

Open shelves are the perfect place to add character to your home and to show your personal style. Shelf styling is a creative process and can be fun but can also be a bit daunting. I’ll share a few tips to help you achieve beautifully curated shelves in your homes.

1. Start with a Focal Point. Usually these are larger pieces like a beautiful vase or framed artwork, to serve as the focal point of your shelf.
2. Mix Height and Scale. Use a variety of items in different heights to create visual interest. Stack books, place taller objects behind shorter ones, and don’t forget to use bookends!
3. Incorporate Textures. Mix materials like wood, glass, brass and ceramics or vintage pieces to add depth and dimension. A woven basket can introduce a cozy element.
4. Cohesive Colour Palette. Stick to a colour palette that complements your room.
5. Create smaller groupings to create visual interest. Fill in gaps with finishing touches like little items and florals.
6. Leave Breathing Room. Allow some space between items so each piece to breathe. Negative space often helps create balance and makes the display feel intentional.
7. Add Personal Touches. Finally, incorporate items that tell your story—photos, travel souvenirs, or heirlooms that make the shelves uniquely yours!
