My favourite tips for making windows appear larger:

-Hang your curtains HIGH. A few inches above your window frame or a couple inches below your ceiling or crown moulding. This helps to make your ceilings feel higher and draws your eye up.

-Hang your curtains WIDE. I like my rod to extend 8-10” outside of my window trim. When you pull your curtains, this allows them to go to the side without covering the window and also makes the window appear larger.

This takes minimal effort, just a little planning + measuring ahead of time!
