If you’re looking for a quick and easy DIY project, then look around your home to find pieces to makeover and grab some spray paint! I never get tired of these before + afters and transforming outdated decor and giving it new life!
A big thank you to BEHR® for sponsoring this blog post and inspiring me to get creative with BEHR PREMIUMTM Spray Paint. All opinions are my own.
Since we are moving later this summer, I have focused my attention to projects that I can take with us, and things that do not change our home since it has officially sold. *cue the tears*
A little spray paint transformation is good for the soul. In a way, small projects like these allow me to have control over something in my life. There is so much happening leading up to our big move, and lots of changes coming our way – I welcome the distraction and happiness it brings to give some of these items a fresh look.
To be completely honest, I’ve been very quiet about the move because I’ve been digesting these changes that are coming. Normally we’d be working on other projects in our home but since we knew we’d be moving + selling we haven’t done any big projects around this house in 2022. I will admit I’ve spray painted many items this year!
Colours used: BEHR PREMIUM™ Spray Paint in Black in Flat, Ashen Tan N220-2 in Satin, and BEHR PREMIUM™ Metallic Spray Paint in Gold SP-203 in Gloss.
I have this wooden stool that came dipped. I haven’t loved the dipped look for some time now and I’ve been wanting to give it a transformation.
I decided to add some contrast, so I used BEHR PREMIUM™ Spray Paint in Black in the Flat finish. Usually I’m drawn to flat finishes and LOVE how easily this covered the stool. I only did one coat and quickly touched up any spots I completely missed.
When I have the extra time I enjoy thrifting, especially when I find unique items. I’m always on the hunt for vases that are sizeable or have an interesting shape. When I found this vase during a recent thrifting trip I was thrilled. The before isn’t terrible, but with a quick coat of spray paint it is so much better.
For the vase I used BEHR PREMIUM Spray Paint in Ashen Tan N220-2 in Satin. It’s a really lovely off white. I considered making this vase look antique but I was so pleased with the first (and only coat) I decided to keep it as is. The BEHR PREMIUM Spray Paint formulation is paint and primer in a single can, which makes it so easy and quick to use with the same BEHR quality I know and love.
I also found the bell thrifting, and knew I wanted to paint it gold. I used BEHR PREMIUM Metallic Spray Paint in Gold SP-203 in Gloss. BEHR also has several other metallic spray paints to choose from, like Champagne Gold and Vintage Gold. The coverage was incredible and covered over the old floral design with no problem!
I love being able to transform these items into something that better suits my home. A very easy project with almost immediate satisfaction.
I hope you found this short blog post encouraging for you to give new life to something you might already own. Spray paint is such an easy way to update those outdated items into something you love again! BEHR has so many different colours to choose from and it works for both indoor and outdoor use – I need to find a few other items to spray paint because I’d like to test out their other metallics and I can’t wait to try the Amazon Moss colour!
